In the present report, the Independent Expert on the Enjoyment of All Human Rights by Older Persons presents the findings of her visit to Slovenia from 17 to 21 November 2014. The main objective was to identify both best practices and gaps in the implementation of existing laws related to the promotion and protection of the rights of older persons. She also assessed the implementation of existing international instruments as well as law and policies pertaining to the enjoyment of all human rights by older persons in Slovenia. Based on information gathered prior to, during and after the visit, the Independent Expert analysed the challenges faced in the realization of all human rights by older persons, paying particular attention to ostracized persons and groups. She also examined measures to foster the implementation of existing law and policies that could contribute to the promotion and protection of the rights of older persons.
