UNAIDS and the Global Health Workforce Alliance Launch Agenda for Zero Discrimination

UNAIDS and the Global Health Workforce Alliance are launching an Agenda for Zero Discrimination in Health Care, an action plan to help achieve universal health care services and where health care workers are empowered to provide discrimination-free services.

The Agenda places priority on three critical areas: increasing political commitment to achieving universal health care, accountability, and large-scale implementation, consistent with the commitments outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals.

The SDGs are explicitly in aiming to achieve non-discriminatory health care coverage: Goal 3.8 is to “achieve universal health coverage, including financial risk protection, access to quality essential health-care services and access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all”.
