ILO Launches Commission on the Future of Work

On 21 August, the ILO launched the Global Commission on the Future of Work, the second phase of its Future of Work Initiative.

The Commission has been tasked with producing an independent report examining how to ensure decent and sustainable work for all as the context of work changes due to globalization, advances in technology, climate change and changes in demography.

The Commission’s  research will focus on four key areas:

  • Work and society
  • Decent jobs for all
  • The organization of work and production
  • The governance of work
