The ILO Hosts the 106th Session of the International Labour Conference

The 106th International Labour Conference took place from 5-16 June 2017. This year’s conference focused on three major items, which all include important references to social protection:

  1. A standard-setting discussion on a potential Recommendation concerning employment and decent work for peace and resilience, which would revise the Employment (Transition from War to Peace) Recommendation, 1944 (No. 71).
  2. A discussion of labour migration, focusing in particular on current trends and the importance of addressing governance challenges in a changing labour migration landscape
  3. A discussion on fundamental principles and rights at work
